Last week, the New Canadians Centre (NCC) marked World Refugee Day with the inspiring
"Our Home" Community Conversation event. In partnership with the Peterborough Public Library, NCC hosted a panel discussion exploring what "home" means to those forced to leave their countries and how communities can best support them. The discussion was insightful, fostering a deeper understanding and empathy within the community.
From June 1 to 28, the NCC is organizing the third
Canadian Multicultural Festival in Nogojiwanong-Peterborough. The organization has supported over 2,000 clients from more than 100 countries, speaking over 70 languages in 2023-2024. Each individual brings unique customs, music, dance, food, sports, and stories, contributing to the vibrant NCC community.
