Celebrating World Refugee Day: the New Canadians Centre Peterborough

Last week, the New Canadians Centre (NCC) marked World Refugee Day with the inspiring "Our Home" Community Conversation event. In partnership with the Peterborough Public Library, NCC hosted a panel discussion exploring what "home" means to those forced to leave their countries and how communities can best support them. The discussion was insightful, fostering a deeper understanding and empathy within the community.

From June 1 to 28, the NCC is organizing the third Canadian Multicultural Festival in Nogojiwanong-Peterborough. The organization has supported over 2,000 clients from more than 100 countries, speaking over 70 languages in 2023-2024. Each individual brings unique customs, music, dance, food, sports, and stories, contributing to the vibrant NCC community.
